One of the most-watched and most-loved festivals across the MENA region, El Gouna Film Festival (GFF), has announced the dates for its fourth edition. What’s better than waking up to such awesome news? In just 4 years, the festival has become one of the most respected film festivals across Africa, MENA and the Middle East.
The festival will take place between September 24 and October 2, 2020, with the film submissions to open on March 1, 2020, and close on July 15, 2020. The activities organized by the festival’s industry arm, Cinegouna Platform, will take place from September 26 to October 1, 2020.
“El Gouna Film Festival has been making some measured choices that are all geared towards managing and hopefully meeting the expectations of industry professionals, audiences and the media,” said Festival Director, Intishal Al Timimi.
Al Timimi highlighted that the festival has attracted a variety of renowned films from established filmmakers, as well as innovative works from emerging filmmakers thanks to the team’s hard work and commitment.
The festival was launched under the permanent theme ‘Cinema for Humanity’, to promote communication and encourage dialogue across cultures.
GFF had previously signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to advocate for the rights of disadvantaged children across Egypt and the region.
